Greenfield Community College - Greenfield, Massachusetts

(Were you at this show?  Please introduce yourself!)

SO – we rehearse in Woodstock the night before the show.

Christine throws out her back really bad. Nobody knows why. But all of a sudden she’s in severe pain all the time. I suspect it’s like the Titanic. The weight of her top half was suddenly too much, and she just snapped in half.

Anyway – we only get about 5 hours sleep. Wake up the band at 7am expecting to get out the door at 8am, but we don’t get out ‘til 9:00.

I tell Pete (the bassist) to meet me in front of Grand Union grocery store over & over again. I tell Rodney, "Tell Pete again – Grand… Union!"

We wait there for 10 minutes. He doesn’t show. We go back to the house, and he’s saying, "I was waiting in front of the Taco place, just like you said!" That was good for a laugh.

I’ve got my big juice shake in the car. Made out of chopped almonds, blueberries, 2 bananas, apple juice, ice, and rice milk. Huge huge jumbo cup of it. We take a turn and – PLOP – all over Christine’s leather purse and shoes. It’s SOAKED. Looks like someone puked everywhere. She’s screaming.

We’re flying 75-80 mph down the highway, and she’s still sitting in all the stuff. The baby wipes didn’t get it up very well.

THE SHOW: HIT ME

Did the fastest setup we’ve ever done. Greenfield Community College is very very cool little school. Between Merryl Sackin, Marnie Tibbetts, Sarah Mard, and Sonja Pease – they’re the coolest bunch of people. Seems like they’ve been there forever.

It’s this little cafeteria. Even smaller than your usual college cafeteria. But we set up a little stage, and they’re kickin’ it! People dance. People know the tunes. It’s great.

A fun one-hour show. Had to boogie the minute it was over.

Have to boogie again now, ‘cuz it’s time to start our show in Boston. (see the next page – Laselle College in Newton, Massachusetts.)
